  • The repair of bone defects remains a major challenge in the clinic, and treatment requires bone grafts or bone replacement materials. Existing biomaterials have many limitations and cannot meet the various needs of clinical applications. To treat bone defects, we constructed a nanohydroxyapatite (nHA)/methylacrylylated silk fibroin (MASF) composite biological scaffold using photocurable 3D printing technology. In this study, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to detect the changes in the morphological structure of the composite scaffold with different contents of nanohydroxyapatite, and FTIR was used to detect the functional groups and chemical bonds in the composite scaffold to determine the specific components of the scaffold. In in vitro experiments, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from SD rats were cocultured with scaffolds soaking solution, and the cytotoxicity, cell proliferation, Western blot analysis, Quantitative real-time PCR analysis, bone alkaline phosphatase activity and alizarin red staining of scaffolds were detected to determine the biocompatibility of scaffolds and the effect of promoting proliferation and osteogenesis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in vitro. In the in vivo experiment, the skull defect was constructed by adult SD rats, and the scaffold was implanted into the skull defect site.   • Land-cover plays an important role in the Earth’s energy balance, the hydrological cycle, and the carbon cycle. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the current global land-cover (GLC) products and to understand the differences between these products so that they can be used effectively in different applications. In this study, three 30-m GLC products, namely GlobeLand30-2010, GLC_FCS30-2015, and FROM_GLC30-2015, were evaluated in terms of areal consistency and spatial consistency using the Land Use/Cover Area frame statistical Survey (LUCAS) reference dataset over the European Union (EU). Given the limitations of the traditional confusion matrix used in accuracy assessment, we adjusted the confusion matrices from sample counts by accounting for the class proportions of the map and reported the standard errors of the descriptive accuracy measures in the accuracy assessment. The results revealed the following. (1) The overall accuracy of the GlobeLand30-2010 product was the highest at 88.90 ± 0.68%; this was followed by GLC_FCS30-2015 (84.33 ± 0.80%) and FROM_GLC2015 (65.31 ± 1.0%). (2) The consistency between the GLC_FCS30-2015 and GlobeLand30-2010 is higher than the consistency between other products, with an area correlation coefficient of 0.930 and a proportion of consistent pixels of 52.41%, respectively.   • This study measured the spatio-temporal change of the Arable Land Allocation Intensity (ALAI), and established a toughness index to evaluate the responses of grain productivities to the ALAIs in 31 provinces. The results show that the ALAI decreased in 31 provinces during 2005–2020, whereas the grain productivity responses differed. Though China’s Major Grain producing areas (CMGPA) experienced decreasing arable land allocation intensities compared with the non-CMGPAs, they still showed a robust toughness of grain productivity. The spatial barycenter of grain productivity moved towards Northeast China, which was much faster and further than the northwest movement of the ALAI, indicating a dislocated motion of grain production and ALAI. In all, both the toughness of grain productivity and the tightening arable land allocation intensities were apparent in the CMGPAs, especially in the northeastern CMGPAs in China. In order to improve the grain productivity on shrinking arable land resources, this study suggests that we tighten the quota of arable land transformed into construction land, improve the per-unit grain yield, and enhance the remote sensing technology and field surveys to better monitor the local governments’ performance in arable land management.

Numerous studies have shown that in-depth mining of correlations between multi-modal features can help improve the accuracy of cross-modal data analysis tasks. However, the current image description methods based on the encoder-decoder framework only carry out the interaction and fusion of multi-modal features in the encoding stage or the decoding stage, which cannot effectively alleviate the semantic gap. In this paper, we propose a Deep Fusion Transformer (DFT) for image captioning to provide a deep multi-feature and multi-modal information fusion strategy throughout the encoding to decoding process. We propose a novel global cross encoder to align different types of visual features, which can effectively compensate for the differences between features and incorporate each other’s strengths. In the decoder, a novel cross on cross attention is proposed to realize hierarchical cross-modal data analysis, extending complex cross-modal reasoning capabilities through the multi-level interaction of visual and semantic features. Extensive experiments conducted on the MSCOCO dataset prove that our proposed DFT can achieve excellent performance and outperform state-of-the-art methods.
